Maysville's affordable housing funds reallocated; project paused
On Monday late afternoon, the Town of Maysville received an email and a phone call notifying us that the $9.725M in funding awarded to Maysville at the end of October 2023 has been re-allocated by the State of North Carolina to help meet current disaster relief efforts.

Former President Donald Trump is coming to Kinston
Former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the upcoming election, is set to hold a rally in Kinston this Sunday. The event will take place at the Kinston Regional Jetport, a location where Trump previously held a rally in October 2016.
Details about the rally, including start time and ticket information, have not yet been released, but it has been reported that the gates open at 10:00 am and the event is at 2:00 pm. Local residents are encouraged to stay tuned for further announcements regarding this high-profile event.

Structure fire in Deep Run involving multiple vehicles
Just before 8 p.m. tonight, Lenoir County 911 received reports of a structure fire involving multiple vehicles in the vicinity of 2720 Eric Sparrow Road, Deep Run. Fire departments from Deep Run, Pink Hill and Albertson responded and are currently on scene.
