Kinston-Edna Ruth Haddock Cole, 93, peacefully departed from her temporary life to enter life eternal on Friday, October 4, 2024. A memorial service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at Rouse Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The family will receive friends following the service.

North Carolina State Representative Chris Humphrey is seeking re-election in 2024, running as an incumbent to retain his seat in the House. A lifelong Lenoir County resident, Humphrey has spent decades in public service and business, first as a town council member in La Grange, and later as a Lenoir County commissioner. GRIFTON - Mrs. Ann Ham Wade, age 79, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, October 8th, at the Chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Bert Potter officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
