Betty Jane Taylor Smith passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2024. A visitation will be held at Lane’s Chapel Global Methodist Church on Saturday, September 28 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a service of remembrance at 2:00.

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 11:08 AM, D-Squad officers received a report regarding a stolen wallet and credit cards. It was reported that the suspects attempted to use the stolen credit cards at a local convenience store.
