In 2009, board members of the CSS Neuse Foundation decided to do something special to raise funds to place a monument for Alton “Doc” Stapleford to recognize and honor the work and supervision he provided during the construction of the CSS Neuse II. Recovery Court has donated 23 extra-large medication lock boxes to Raising Awareness for the Developmentally Disabled (RADD) to help prevent unintended overdoses in the community. Governor Roy Cooper announced today that communities statewide will receive more than $253 million in drinking water and wastewater infrastructure funding and stormwater construction grants to help pay for 70 projects in 30 counties statewide, including 51 construction projects.
