Officers from KPD's B-Squad received information related to a vehicle being driven with a stolen license plate. Officers located the vehicle in the area of W King Street and S Herritage Street. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver failed to stop and fled from officers.
Officers responded to 110 W Blount Street for crowd control as patrons were leaving J's Place. Officers received reports that Andrea Broadie (33 of Goldsboro, NC) was unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm. Initially, Broadie refused to comply with the officer's investigation.
Ruth Taylor Howard, 98, of Kinston, passed away, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at UNC Lenoir Healthcare. A Graveside Service will be conducted Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11:30am at Pinelawn Memorial Park with the Rev. David Harrington officiating. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home from 10:00 - 11:00am prior to the service.
KPD's D-Squad responded to the 700 block of Harding Avenue for a report of a vehicle B&E. Officers arrived in the area and located the offender, Zaire Corbitt (21 of Snow Hill, NC).
Phyllis Taylor Jones, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024, surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2pm at The Way Church, 1205 Lynn Dr, Kinston, NC 28504.
