KPD Officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit that started in the city of Kinston and went to Greene County. In December of 2022, KPD's Violent Crime Action Team began a drug investigation related to the distribution of crack cocaine by Rodney Meadows (37 of Kinston). The investigation led to Meadows being charged with 34 felonies. On June 14, 2024 Meadows pled guilty in Lenoir County Superior court and received 11-18 years in prison.
