KPD's A-Squad responded to a residence on Old Snow Hill Road for a report of someone being chased by a motor vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with Jeronte Dudley (25 of LaGrange) and his girlfriend, Keola Thompson (23 of Kinston).
Snow Hill Primary Terrific Kid Awards
Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. Bucklesberry, Back in the Day: Introduction
Arguably the oldest named farm community in Lenoir County, NC, Bucklesberry is nestled along the north side of the Neuse River, a few miles south of the town of La Grange. Its geographic location has remained the same over time, but its boundaries have modified and county affiliation has varied as North Carolina's counties were formed and renamed during the last half of the eighteenth century.
City of Kinston seeks grant for Electric Resilience Project
The City of Kinston is set to apply for a state grant aimed at improving the resilience of its electric distribution system. The grant, provided by the State Department of Environmental Quality Energy Office, will fund projects converting overhead electric lines to underground lines, reducing the risk of power outages during severe weather.

Obituary: Meta Mae Williams Kennedy,
Meta Mae Williams Kennedy, 92, passed away on May 30, 2024, at UNC Lenoir Hospital in Kinston, North Carolina. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

B-Mocha Coffee Shop, located at 2908 Vernon Avenue, has closed its doors unexpectedly, just two months after its grand opening in March 2024. The sudden closure has left both customers and employees in shock, as a "For Rent" sign now hangs on the building.
