A service of love and remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home on Sunday, April 21, 2024 with Pastor Linda Grider officiating. Committal with military honors will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
An 18-year-old has been arrested and charged with a February shooting of a 15-year-old juvenile in La Grange.
The loss of a student is always tragic. Our first thoughts are for the family of Za’Dok Clark and LCPS extends to them our heartfelt sympathy. Snow HIll - Snow Hill Primary recently named 1st Grade Teacher, Margaret D’Jernes as this year’s Teacher of the Year. She graduated in 2017 and joined the staff at SHP immediately following. She shared that she completed her clinical teaching experiences at SHP and fell in love with the community so as soon as she had a chance she wanted to return to Snow Hill.

A 12-year-old boy has died due to a gunshot wound; the incident happened on the 2600 block of Dean Drive in Kinston a few minutes before 7 p.m. today. The incident is currently under investigation by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office.
Susan Fort Fox, age 69, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Duke Hospital. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Kinston, NC on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 2pm. Reception to follow in Moseley Hall.
