Juan Eric Cantu, 77, of Kinston, entered his eternal rest on January 2, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday at 2pm at the Walk of Honor, Herritage St, Kinston. Burial with military honors will follow in Westview Cemetery. Friends and family are invited back to GI Joe’s for a time of sharing memories of Eric. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3-5pm at Edwards Funeral Home and other times at GI Joe’s.
On Monday, January 1, 2024, members of the Kinston Police Department responded to a residence on the 1500 block of Hwy 258 N. Kinston, N.C., in reference to a reported 1st degree Burglary. The homeowner advised that the suspect entered the residence while the occupants were asleep and stole several items. The homeowner provided surveillance video that showed the suspect, Dustin Snyder, 36, of Kinston, enter the residence with a firearm before stealing firearms and misc. items.

Annie Ruth Antwine Hill, 92, of Kinston, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at UNC Lenoir Memorial Hospital. A Graveside Service to celebrate her life will be conducted Friday January 5th, 2024, at 11am at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 5 to 7pm at Edwards Funeral Home. The family is also receiving friends at her home.

Jean Sutton Pate, 89, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023. A service to celebrate and remember Jean’s life will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. The family will receive friends following the service.
