On Thursday, October 19th, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department were able to obtain warrants for the arrest of Devonte Cantey, 23, of Kinston, for the shooting of Tabias Williams and Tamir Cobb.

John Thomas Sutton III (Tommy) passed away October 17, 2023 at Wake Med in Raleigh. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Morehead City.
Kathryn Hale Murray, 94, of Kinston, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023. A Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11am at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
