Snow Hill Primary "Terrific Kid" awards

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards.  Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.  On Fridays, these students are presented with an award and are congratulated for their hard work.  Below are Snow Hill Primary's last two Terrific Kid Awards!

Operation: Monday Morning Kitten Rescue

A kitten found itself trapped beneath a grade covering the Arts Council’s basement windows Monday Morning. The Neuse News team tried to coax the kitten out but had no success. Assistance arrived from Kinston Police Department's Animal Control Officer Danny Daughtey and Sergeant Sam McLawhorn, who, alongside another Good Samaritan, managed to lift the hefty grate and free the kitten. The officers took the kitten to the Lenoir County SPCA, for potential adoption.

Lenoir County Notice of Public Hearing: FY 23-24 Manager's Recommended Budget

In accordance with N.C.G.S. 159-12(b) for the purpose of taking comments from the public with regards to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget, as proposed and submitted by the County Manager to the Board of Commissioners on May 15, 2023, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, June 5, 2023, during the regular meeting of the Commissioners which begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers located at 130 South Queen Street, Kinston, NC.

La Grange Public Library receives grant for small and rural libraries to assist patrons with disabilities

The La Grange Public Library, a member of Neuse Regional Libraries, has been selected as one of 240 libraries to participate in Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities.

Sealed bids for the project entitled Soccer Field Improvements will be received by Lenoir Community College until 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in the Administration Building Boardroom located at 231 North Carolina Hwy 58 S, Kinston, North Carolina.  At said place and time, all Bids that have been duly received, will be publicly opened and read aloud.
