I worked with Professor John Hoppenthaler for several years after he joined the faculty of East Carolina’s Department of English. He brought energy and enthusiasm to the classes he taught. His role at ECU is Professor of English and Creative Writing, and he serves as the co-director of the ECU Contemporary Writers Series.

Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Grange. Drivers on Hill Farm Road may have noticed traffic islands on their daily commute. The islands are in preparation for an all-way stop that will be implemented at that intersection this week. The attached graphic illustrates how the road will look as of Wednesday. Left turns are not being eliminated.
