Mildred Cleo Garris went to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, March 8, 2022, in the presence of her children. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 pm in the Edwards Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home.

The Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne has issued a progress update on the 2022 Lenoir County Build. It is the first habitat house being built in Lenoir County in a number of years. The walls are up and the tresses will be set up on the house the week of March 7, 2022. There will be a fundraiser on St. Patrick’s Day at Mother Earth Brewery.
