The Town of Fuquay-Varina will hold public meetings to receive comments on their request for an interbasin transfer (IBT) certificate from the source river basin of the Cape Fear River basin to the receiving river basin of the Neuse River basin. The Town currently serves customers in the both the Cape Fear and Neuse River basins. The Town is requesting an IBT certificate for an average day over a maximum month transfer of approximately 4 million gallons per day (mgd) from the Cape Fear River basin to the Neuse River basin. The requested transfer amount is based on 2055 water demand projections in the Town’s service area.
North Carolina has a continuing CHILD FIND procedure in place to locate all children with disabilities residing in the State, including children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services. A local Project CHILD FIND effort is underway in the Jones County area to identify children and youth ages 3 to 21 who have disabilities and need special education and other services.
A meeting will be held on June 29, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 p.m. at Jones County Board of Education, 320 West Jones Street Trenton, NC 28585. The purpose of this meeting is to consult with private schools and parents of parentally-placed private school students as well as home-schooled students.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA-Part B, Public Law 108.446) Project is presently being amended. The Project describes the special education programs that Jones County proposes for Federal funding for the 2020-21 school year.

Notice is hereby given that the Kinston-Lenoir County Tourism Development Authority will hold a Public Hearing at 2:50 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in the VisitKinston.com offices located at 118 West North Street, Kinston, NC 28501. The Public Hearing is for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the Proposed Kinston-Lenoir County Tourism Development Authority Budget for Fiscal Year 2020-2021.

The Board of Commissioners intends to consider awarding an economic development incentive to Blue Mountain Enterprises Inc., which is investing in real and personal property with a potential value totaling $2,665,000 taxable amount.
