Dr. Charles Leonidas Herring, 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Kitty Askins Hospice House in Goldsboro, NC. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 3:00 pm at Gordon Street Christian Church in Kinston, NC. A reception will be held afterwards at the Church Fellowship Hall.
Roger Allen Barnette, 70, passed away on June 10, 2024. A celebration of life will be held on June 22 in Kinston at Lenoir Community College in the Waller Building from 3-6pm.
Alvin Earl Lassiter Jr., 68, died at home Sunday, June 9, 2024, in Trenton. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11 am in the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Reverend Darren Smith presiding. Burial will follow at Phillips Family Cemetery, Phillips Road, Trenton, NC.

A funeral service to honor David’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14th at Parkview Baptist Church in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. John Carswell. Her life will be remembered at a graveside service to be held 11 AM Monday, May 13th, at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, North Carolina, with Reverend Philip Wood and Reverend Stanley Buck officiating. The family will receive friends by the grave side following the service and other times at the Russell residence.
