David Willis Baker Jr., 68, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. A funeral service to honor David’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14th at Parkview Baptist Church in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. John Carswell. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park in Newport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Lorraine Vandiford Russell, age 85, passed away Wednesday, May 8th, 2024. Her life will be remembered at a graveside service to be held 11 AM Monday, May 13th, at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, North Carolina, with Reverend Philip Wood and Reverend Stanley Buck officiating. The family will receive friends by the grave side following the service and other times at the Russell residence.
Dr. Hubert Gaines Pierce, age 91, of Kinston, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. A private graveside service will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park, in Wilson, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, May 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 2600 Rouse Road in Kinston, with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
Marie Slot Singleton, age 89, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024. Family, friends, and others whose lives Marie touched are invited to a visitation at Faith Fellowship Church, 2278 Paul's Path Road, Kinston, NC from 12:30 - 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Funeral services will follow at the same location at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.

Katie “Sue” Tripp, 83, passed away Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family when she went home to be with Jesus. A graveside service will be held at East Duplin Memorial Park, Beulaville on Thursday, May 9, at 3PM. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, May 8.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Garner Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin after the visitation with Pastor Chris Truett officiating. The burial will be held following the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
