Alexandra (Allie) Christian Palmer, 14, was born December 1, 2005 and promoted to Glory on January 11, 2020. Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church, on Paul’s Path Road, Kinston, N.C. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Scarlette Hinnant Stovall, 50, lost her courageous battle with cancer and won her place in heaven with her Heavenly Father. Scarlette passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice. The service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday at 2 PM at Christ Church, 745 Davenport Farm Road, Winterville, NC. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the church.
Edward Carlton Avery, 86, of Kinston passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Spring Arbor. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at First FWB Church, 3297 Falling Creek Road, Kinston.
Simmons Isler Patrick passed away on December 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 2:30 pm on December 13th. Burial will be in St. Francis Garden at St. Mary’s Church.
Reuben Joshua Davis, 85, of Kinston passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, NC. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Lenoir Community College with military honors and visitation to follow. Private burial will be held at a later date.
On Saturday, November 2, 2019, John “Morris” Brisco, loving husband, father and grandfather, flew home to be with Jesus at the age of 72. A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church of Kinston on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends following the service. Daniel Ray “Danny” Bridwell, 64, a lifelong resident of Lenoir County, North Carolina departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 1, 2019. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00-2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Rouse Funeral Home in La Grange. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, officiated by Pastor Greg Kincaid.
Francis “Marty” Martin Beam Jr., 72, of Atlantic Beach, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Kinston with a reception to follow.
Grace Noble Rouse, 90 of Kinston passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at MacGregor Downs Health & Rehab. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at Southwood Memorial Christian Church with visitation to follow. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery.
Sandra "Sue" Plasky passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the age of 82. All services will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 400 Academy Heights Road in Kinston, NC. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5th.

Emma Britt Davis Griffin, 93, of Cary, NC, formerly of Kinston, NC, died on September 20, 2019. After a private burial in Fairview Cemetery in La Grange, NC, a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, at Queen Street United Methodist Church, 500 N. Queen St, Kinston, NC. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service.
Ilse Mages Rouse, 79, of Kinston, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three sons on Friday, August 16, 2019, at the age of 79. Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Rivermont Baptist Church, with visitation to follow immediately after. A private burial service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Lafayette “Fate” Smith, 95, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019. A service to celebrate and honor Fate’s life will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be held at Westview Cemetery.
Eris Elizabeth Rouse Bias was on born March 3, 1923 and died July 19, 2019. She was 96 years old. As per her wishes, there will be no services. She will be buried next to her husband at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala, Florida.
Clyde Clifton Dunham Jr, 86, passed away July 8, 2019 at the North Carolina Veteran’s Home in Kinston. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. at 902 Church with Pastors Andrew Shue and Amos Sykes officiating. Visitation to follow. Burial will be at a later date. Donations can be made to Southwood Memorial Christian Church Dunham Music Fund, Southwood Volunteer Fire Department or The G.I. Joe Museum.
NEWPORT - Gale Marie Smith Turner peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Gale was born in Lenoir County to Lafayette Smith and Marie Ewell Spears on February 9, 1952. A service to celebrate and remember Gale’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Rouse Funeral Home, with Pastor Robbie Strickland officiating. Interment will be private at Westview Cemetery.
