On March 9, 2025, at approximately 4:36 p.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad responded to a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly on North Herritage Street. Before officers arrived, they were informed that one of the drivers had left the scene.
On March 8, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Highway 258 South after a vehicle nearly struck an officer’s patrol car.
On March 7, 2025, at approximately 12:57 a.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. The vehicle had been reported stolen to KPD on July 17, 2024.

The Lenoir Community College Senator Jim Perry Aviation Center for Excellence (ACE) is progressing steadily at the Global TransPark. Site work, utility relocation, and ground stabilization are complete, with foundation slabs now poured.
By the end of 2024, major progress had been made on the new fuel farm at the North Carolina Global TransPark. Contractors completed tank coatings, pipe fabrication, and line connections. A Snow Hill man was sentenced to 50 months in prison for Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud related to Covid-19 loans. In March of 2024, TYREEK RASHEED EXUM, 26, was charged in a multi-count indictment alleging various offenses related to a Covid fraud scheme.
