Tatiana Quidel Espinoza Aedo, 69, of Kinston, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with the funeral services beginning at 7:00 PM.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., KPD's D-Squad officers attempted to initiate a vehicle stop on Highway 70. The driver of the vehicle, sped away as officers made their approach. The pursuit ensued when the suspect drove over a ditch and fled on foot near Lenoir Community College.
I had not seen him for a good while. One Sunday, he entered King’s Restaurant and took a seat in a booth. I had to go speak to him. He smiled at me, and we chatted for a few minutes. Detectives with the Kinston Police Department have obtained arrest warrants for two individuals, Jeramiah Golphin, 21, of Snow Hill, NC, and Kobe Sheppard, 26, of Kinston, in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Melvin Lofton.
