Sheriff Matt Sasser reports a second arrest made in William "Anthony" Williams Jr. homicide case. On 02/08/2024, Greene County Sheriff's Office Investigators arrested 18-year-old Shayquan Williams of Hookerton. Through interviews and other evidence Investigators were able to obtain a warrant on Williams for an open count of murder.

On February 3, 2024, at approximately 2:45 am, members of the Kinston Police Department were called to Jay’s Place, 110 W. Blount St. Kinston, N.C., to assist the staff with crowd control as a party was ending. Within minutes of officers arriving, a confrontation between patrons took place, and officers heard multiple shots being fired.
KPD Detectives obtained warrants on Zyshawn Smith (20) for Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
KPD Officers on A-Squad responded to a vehicle collision at Dr MLK JR Blvd & Beasley Street. Officer made contact with Bryan Burwell (27 of Ayden NC). Burwell, the driver of one of the vehicles, showed signs of impairment and evidence at the scene suggested it was drug related.

A-Squad Officers responded to a vehicle collision (vehicle vs structure). Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. Officers determined the driver, Koriey Davis (25) was Driving While Impaired (DWI) at the time of the crash. Davis was taken into custody for DWI and officers served 2 unrelated Orders for Arrest. Davis was placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
