Candidate filing ended at noon on Dec. 15, 2023. The following list from the North Carolina State Board of Elections are the candidates who filed prior to the deadline.
Kinston nonprofit to host toy drive and giveaway on December 23, 2023
One local nonprofit leader in Kinston wants to make the Christmas holiday a little bit brighter for youth in the community. VIP Tour and Lunch at the North Carolina Global TransPark
Last week, Military, state/local government, academia, and industry leaders from around the state met for a Lunch and VIP Tour at the North Carolina Global TransPark (NCGTP). Also in attendance were representatives from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) and the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC).

KPD and Sheriff's Office uncover marijuana operation on Railfence Drive
KPD's Violent Crime Action Team and the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant for a residential home on Railfence Drive. The search lead to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation, drug paraphernalia, psilocybin mushrooms, and a AR-15 rifle. Savon Divontre Roberts (19), Jataves Ellison (19), and Joshue Javon Ellsion (22) were arrested on site and charged with the following:

Pink Hill: Residents of Pink Hill are grappling with a perplexing situation as they receive unusually high water bills due to a software malfunction. Pink Hill resident Suzie Baker took to Facebook to express her concerns about her recent water bill.
KPD Cracks Down on Drug Activity on Tower Hill Road
KPD's Violent Crime Action Team and KPD's D-Squad executed a search warrant at a residential home on Tower Hill Road. The search lead to the discovery of narcotics. Zarek Mattocks (22) and Zamir Mattocks (27) were arrested and charged with the following:
KPD's B-Squad Traffic Stop Uncovers Concealed Firearm and Drugs
Members of KPD's B-Squad conducted a traffic stop with Jakevion Canady (22). The traffic stop led to the discovery of a concealed firearm, an open container of alcohol, marijuana, and suspected Oxycodone. Canady has a valid CCW permit, however violated permit requirements. Canady was arrested and charged with the following:
