On Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Kinston Police Department responded to First National Bank located at 1101 W. Vernon Ave. Kinston in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, officers met with the victims, who advised that an unknown white male entered the bank and demanded money. The suspect was believed to be armed and fled on foot after receiving cash from the teller.

At Greene Central High School, educators strive for excellence every day. Among them stands Colin Lee, a dedicated Earth Science and Biology Teacher with two years under his belt. In addition to his classroom duties, Lee also coaches football, further connecting with students beyond academic boundaries.

The Lenoir County Farmer’s Market update for October 14, 2023. The Farmer’s Market will be open on Tuesday and Saturday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Personally, I do not need a reason to love oysters, I already do and always look forward to a fall oyster roast in the crisp fall air. I long ago learned the proper way to shuck an oyster and enjoy!! Oysters are the shelled gem of the sea; they have a very unique chewy texture and a salty briny taste.
Our Annual Fall Clean Up will be held Saturday, October 14th! Volunteers are needed! This will be a wonderful opportunity for students or scouts to earn Community Service hours!
