Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue Responds to structure fire that sends two to the Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill
On Friday September 29th at 5:05 pm the Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire located at 513 Terminal Street. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and declared a working fire. The individuals that resided at the address had exited out of the house but went back in to the home while initial fire crews were preparing their equipment to attack the fire.

Lenoir County Pipe Replacements Planned for October
A couple of drainage pipes are scheduled to be upgraded on U.S. 258 South next week. The roadway near Patterson Road will close the morning of Oct. 2 and is scheduled to reopen the evening of Oct. 4.

The City of Kinston and Lenoir County are saying goodbye to its Parks and Recreation Director, Corey Povar, who announced his resignation after four and a half years in the role. Povar has accepted a position as Assistant Parks and Recreation Director in the City of Chandler, Arizona.
