The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 11 grant requests to local governments totaling $4,478,850, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The requests include commitments to create a total of 383 jobs, 173 of which were previously announced. The Kinston Police Department responded to a report of a subject in a vehicle fired a gun in the air on Ivy Road. Officers located the vehicle and identified the Stanley Miller. During the encounter, officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle that was in plain view.
One person is dead and another has been charged with his murder following an incident Wednesday night near the Sandy Bottom community of Lenoir County.
