It was a night to remember for the nearly 250 graduates who walked across the stage at Lenoir Community College to receive degrees in the College’s 61st Annual Commencement in the Student Center.

A new dog grooming business has opened at 306 W. Blount Street. DeOGee Spaw, owned by Bianca Andrade and Stephen Hill, is one of the newest businesses in downtown Kinston. Located in the art district, they offer full-service baths, haircuts, nail trimming, and customized packages.
An old building will get a new lease on life with the Paramount Project. A collective effort is underway to restore the Paramount Theater to its former glory. The project is currently raising the funds needed to renovate the building.
Lenoir Community College will hold its 61st commencement at 7 p.m. May 11 in the Student Center with Dr. Deborah Grimes as the guest speaker. Admission to the ceremony is by ticket only as seating is limited. More than 350 graduates are eligible to receive degrees.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) for Special Olympics is the largest year-round public awareness and grass-roots fundraising campaign for Special Olympics. Known as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions, and into Special Olympics State, National, Regional and World Games.
2022 was an incredible year in the 8th Judicial District Family Accountability and Recovery Court (FARC)! Eight participants successfully completed the program. In FARC, participants have lost or are at risk of losing their children due to substance use which impacts ability to parent.
