Lenoir County Public School students took part in Ace Academy, LCPS’s summer learning program designed to acquaint middle and high school students with aviation-related occupations. Ace Academy is based in the Lenoir Community College Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center.

On 07/10/2022 Snow Hill Police Department, assisted by Greene County Sheriff's Office, responded to a private residence on West Greene Street to investigate a reported assault. Chief Smith arrived on scene and discovered a stabbing victim who was treated promptly by Greene County EMS, and was subsequently transported to Vidant Medical Center.

Three LCPS schools will open the 2022-2023 academic year under new leadership after the Lenoir County Board of Education approved principal and assistant principal assignments recommended by Superintendent Brent Williams on Monday night.
Lenoir County Public Schools posted on their Facebook page, “Congratulations to Patrick Phillippe, principal of Woodington Middle School for the past eight years and, as of this morning, the LCPS Principal of the Year for 2022-2023.”
State Senator Jim Perry (R-Lenoir) and state Representative Chris Humphrey (R-Lenoir) announced several local initiatives that are set to receive funding in this latest round of state appropriations.
