Snow Hill Primary Terrific Kids

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. On Fridays, these students are presented with an award from the counselor, Mrs. McLawhorn, or an administrator and are congratulated for their hard work. One-stop early voting for Lenoir, Jones and Greene Counties

On October 14, 2021, a One-stop early voting period begins for November municipal elections. In Lenoir County, One-Stop voting sites include Fairfield Recreation Center, La Grange Frink Alumni Association Culture Center, and Teachers Memorial Gym. In Greene County, the location is the Snow Hill Fire Department. In Jones County, early voters will vote at Jones County Board of Elections.

Nearly all staff in state operated healthcare facilities fully vaccinated

Nearly all 10,000 employees at state-operated healthcare facilities are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and compliant with a mandatory vaccination requirement, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The department’s Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF), a state-operated health care system comprised of 14 facilities, moved to mandatory COVID-19 vaccination in July.

Mike Parker: CSS Neuse II holds ‘Breakfast’ on Saturday, October 16, 2021

For the second time this year, the CSS Neuse Foundation is hosting “Breakfast on the Boat.” The event will begin around 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the CSS Neuse II, the replica gunboat. As usual, “Breakfast on the Boat” features scrambled eggs, bacon, link sausage, grits, biscuits, and a beverage. All foods except biscuits are prepared on the grounds next to the CSS Neuse II. Tables will afford social distancing.
