ALERT: Three arrested on drug and firearm charges
Three men — Howie Quentin Jones, Eric Ashley Newcome and Timothy Michael Jones — have been jailed following search warrants being executed at a house on N.C. 58 South in Lenoir County.
Greene County Sheriff's Office charge Kinston man with multiple child sex crimes
On 01/09/2023, the Greene County Sheriff's Office arrested 34 year old William Ray Jones of Kinston. After a months long investigation Jones was charged with First Degree Statutory Rape, Statutory Rape of a Minor less than 15 years old, Sexual Act by Substitute Parent/Custodian, and Indecent Liberties with a Minor. Jones is currently being held in the Greene County Detention Center under a $650,000 secured bond.
La Grange men arrested following Sunday morning foot chase, shot fired by suspects and robbery
Two men were arrested following the report of a Sunday morning robbery, a foot chase through a neighborhood and a shot fired by one of the suspects during the chase.
Man arrested on 'concealment of death' charge
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged a man with concealment of death after discovering a dead woman in a Deanswood Drive residence.
Riley Road suspicious death on Christmas Day ruled accidental
In reference to the media release sent on 12/25/22 regarding the suspicious death on Riley Rd. The autopsy was completed on 01/04/23 and after conferring with the Medical Examiners’ Office it has been determined that the cause of death will be ruled as accidental. The injuries sustained by Kenneth Jackson, 59, of Kinston were consistent with a fall and no foul play was detected. At this time, there is no concern for public safety and this case has been closed.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office participated in a multi-agency, border-to-border saturation patrol on US17. The saturation patrol resulted in a combined total of 30 charges and 4 arrests. Charges were as follows; Speed-24, DWI- 1, DWLR- 1, NOL-1, Reckless Driving- 1, Drug- 2, and Wanted Persons- 3.

Two men have been arrested and are in Lenoir County Jail following charges of stealing a van and breaking into an Alphonso Waters Road residence in La Gran
KPD: Suspicious death under investigation
On Sunday, December 25th, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m. Kinston Police Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Riley Rd. Kinston, N.C. in reference to an unattended death. Officers arrived on scene and located a 59 year old Kinston resident that was deceased. At this time the cause of death is unknown and it is being investigated as a suspicious death.

Lenoir County Sheriff's Office: Two men arrested Monday on drug charges
Two men were arrested Monday in Grifton on drug charges by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office following an execution of a search warrant that was part of a narcotics investigation.
Case Update: Arrest made in November 28th shooting
With assistance from the public, Raven Whitaker (29) of Kinston, N.C. was identified as one of the assailants in the November 28th shooting that occurred near Emma Webb Park, Kinston, N.C. Warrants were obtained on Whitaker for Attempted First Degree Murder and Larceny of a Firearm.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, at approximately 2:50pm, members of the Kinston Police Department were dispatched to a report of a subject that had been shot on the 1200 block of Tower Hill Rd. Kinston, N.C.
Update: Arrest made in November shooting on Vernon Avenue
With assistance from the public, Zion McMillan (20) of Farmville, N.C. was identified as one of the assailants in the November 27th shooting that occurred at 1609-B W. Vernon Ave. Kinston, N.C. Warrants were obtained on McMillan for (2) Counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
