RALEIGH - Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28 until further notice.

Lenoir County Public Schools host Careers on Wheels event at the fairgrounds
Over 600 fourth-grade students from Lenoir County Public Schools gathered at the Lenoir County Fairgrounds on Thursday for the annual Careers on Wheels event. NC Forest Service to relocate their Region 1 office
The N.C. Forest Service had a longstanding lease at the Global TransPark in Kinston that ended December 31, 2020. Before this lease ended, the N.C. Forest Service began looking for alternate sites to establish a new regional headquarters.
