On Monday, August 16, Greene County Schools opened their 2021-22 school year with its annual opening gathering at Greene Central High School. The annual opening of the school year always begins with the introduction of new staff from each school.

GCMS BETA goes to Nationals
From June 29 to July 2, , the Greene County Middle School Jr Beta Club attended the National Jr Beta Club National Convention at the Swan and Dolphin Convention Center in Disney World. 9 Students, along with their families and team sponsor attended the convention. Students from around the country are invited to attend if they place at their State Level Convention as well as if they want to compete in National Convention Exhibitions.
Greene County Middle teachers earn STEM Innovation Grant Award
Matthew Lococo, seventh grade STEM English Language Arts Teacher and Thomas Loftin, STEM Lab teacher, both received the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Promoting Innovation in Science and Mathematics Teacher Grant in the amount of $4,500.
