Ricardo Arias Named New Principal of Greene Early College High School

Snow Hill - It is with great pleasure that Greene County Schools announces the appointment of Mr. Ricardo Arias as the new Principal of Greene Early College High School. We are excited to welcome him back to the Greene County Schools family. 

Mr. Arias's start date is currently undetermined as he completes his contract requirements at his present school. 

Mr. Ricardo Arias began his college journey at Wayne Community College before earning his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with a concentration in Reading, from East Carolina University. He went on to earn his Master of School Administration through the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program at North Carolina Central University. 

Mr. Arias brings a strong classroom background, with EVAAS results that have consistently exceeded growth expectations, along with a firm commitment to innovative instruction. Throughout his career as an educator and school leader, he has remained dedicated to building strong relationships, supporting teachers, connecting with families, and creating opportunities for all students to succeed. 

Mr. Arias currently serves as Assistant Principal at Norwayne Middle School, where he leads Math Professional Learning Communities, manages 8th-grade discipline, oversees school bus operations, and supports instructional observations across grade levels and content areas. Prior to that role, he spent seven years with Greene County Public Schools as a Math Teacher, Math Department Chair, and PBIS Lead, where he led curriculum alignment efforts, mentored beginning teachers, and exceeded EVAAS growth expectations through data-driven instruction. 

Greene County holds a special place in Mr. Arias's heart and has played an important role in both his personal and professional journey. He is thankful and excited for the opportunity to return home and looks forward to working alongside the students and staff of Greene Early College, partnering with families and the community, and continuing to strengthen the partnership with Lenoir Community College.
