Recovery and Re-entry Shine in Kinston: A Community Celebration of Hope and Progress
Kinston was alive with energy and optimism as the Recovery Together ENC Center joined forces with the Lenoir, Greene, and Jones County Re-entry Council to host the Second Annual Re-entry and Recovery Resource Fair on September 17, 2026 during National Recovery Month. The event brought together 40 representatives from organizations across Eastern North Carolina—employers, housing partners, faith communities, treatment providers, and dedicated neighbors—all united in one mission: uplifting individuals returning from incarceration and those walking the courageous path of recovery.
The RTENC Center, a vital part of the Community Recovery Division of the Lenoir and Greene County Health Departments, continues to expand its impact throughout the region. With a commitment to harm reduction, recovery support, and re-entry guidance, the RTENC Center ensures that every person who walks through its doors is met with compassion, dignity, and access to life-changing resources.
Lenoir Community College acts as the intermediary agency leading the Reentry Council of Lenoir, Greene, & Jones Counties, which supports justice-involved and formerly incarcerated individuals returning to their communities. The program aims to lower repeat offenses, improve safety, and connect returning citizens with crucial community tool by providing assistance with job training and employment, pathways for High School Equivalency (HSE), basic needs such as housing, and referrals for mental health care and substance use support. The program is located at the RTENC Center.
Services at the RTENC Center are open to the community. Offerings include Recovery Groups, AA and NA meetings, High School Equivalency instruction, the Keys to Hope employment-readiness program, ENGAGE Therapy, and re-entry services designed to help individuals rewrite their stories with confidence and stability.
Community members interested in participating are welcome to visit Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For recovery support, Colleen Kosinski, Community Liaison, is available at 252-620-4979. Those recently released from incarceration or currently on probation can connect with Re-entry Coordinator Tracey Price at 252-527-6223 ext. 718 for specialized guidance and support.
All are welcome at the RTENC Center and to Re-entry services. The focus isn’t on the past—it’s on the promise of the future. The RTENC Center and Re-entry services stand ready to help each person take the next step toward stability, hope, and long-term success.
