Obituary: James Donald "Donnie" Heath Jr.

James Donald “Donnie” Heath Jr.,74, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.  Donnie was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the people he loved.  He treasured time spent with his family and held a particularly special place in his heart for his three grandsons.  The memories they created together will be cherished for generations.

Donnie found happiness in the simple things in life.  He loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and tending to his garden.  Whether he was waiting patiently for a fish to bite, working with his hands in the garden, or simply enjoying time with those closest to him, Donnie appreciated the moments that mattered most.

Donnie’s legacy lives on through his family, especially his two daughters and three grandsons who will carry his memory with them always.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father, James Donald Heath Sr. and his brothers, Greg Heath and Chris Heath, and beloved brother-in-law, Jeff Newcomb.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 50 years, Pam Heath; mother, Ethel Heath; daughters, Megan Harris (Tim) and Lauren Roberts (Brian); grandsons, Alston Roberts, Colton Roberts and Brantley Roberts; sisters, Melissa Newcomb and Kim Sugg (Doug); brother-in-law, Greg Braswell (Stephanie) and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine companion and best friend “Ollie.”

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m.  on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Deep Run First Baptist Church, Old Highway 11, Deep Run, NC.  A Celebration of Life will be held following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. 

Donnie will be remembered for his love of family, the life he built, and the countless memories he leaves behind.  His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
