Governor Stein Announces Jones County Judicial Appointments
(RALEIGH) Governor Josh Stein announced the following appointments to the District Court and Superior Court:
Robert Gilmore to the Superior Court for Judicial District 5, serving Duplin, Jones, Onslow, and Sampson counties. Gilmore is filling the vacancy created after the Honorable Henry Stevens retired.
Gilmore currently serves as a district court judge for Judicial District 5. He previously founded and managed Gilmore Law Firm, PLLC with a focus on criminal law. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University and his Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law.
Carrie Vickery to the Superior Court for Judicial District 31B, serving part of Forsyth County. Vickery is filling the vacancy created after the Honorable David Hall retired.
Vickery currently serves as a district court judge for Judicial District 31B and as an adjunct professor of law at Wake Forest University School of Law. Prior to becoming a judge, she practiced at Holton Law Firm. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Western Carolina University and her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law.
Kimberly Best to the District Court for Judicial District 26, serving Mecklenburg County. Best is filling the vacancy created after the Honorable Tyyawdi Hands retired.
Best has worked as a principal at The Best Law Firm, PLLC. She previously served as a judge in both Superior and District court in District 26. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, her Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and her Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law.
“These judges are experienced attorneys who have dedicated themselves to the practice of the law,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Their judgment and experience are invaluable, and I look forward to their service on the bench.”
