KPD's VCAT drug investigation leads to three arrests

The Kinston Police Department's Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT) has arrested three individuals following separate narcotics investigations targeting the distribution of illegal drugs in the Kinston area.

As a result of a methamphetamine trafficking investigation, detectives arrested 𝟒𝟐-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐰𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 of Kinston. Brown was served with outstanding warrants and placed in the Lenoir County Jail. He is charged with:

- Trafficking Methamphetamine (3 counts)

- Multiple counts of Felony Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine and Methamphetamine

In a separate investigation, detectives located and served warrants on 𝟒𝟔-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐩𝐩𝐬 of Kinston. During the investigation, detectives seized approximately 117 grams of cocaine. Epps was charged with:

- Trafficking Cocaine by Possession (4 counts)

- Trafficking Cocaine by Transportation/Delivery (4 counts)

- Felony Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine (3 counts)

Additionally, 𝟒𝟎-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 of Kinston was arrested following an investigation into the sale and distribution of oxycodone pills. Wilson was charged with:

- Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance

Detectives are also working with federal probation authorities and anticipate additional charges related to federal probation violations.

At the time of this release, all three individuals remain in the custody of the Lenoir County Jail.
