Obituary: William Briley Smith Jr.

William Briley Smith Jr., 70, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026.  Briley was a 1974 graduate of South Lenoir High School   He worked in construction, concrete and trucking.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Carrol Smith; sister, Brenda Smith Taylor; mother and father-in-law, Charles and Avonna Johnson; special friend and brother-in-law Sam Colie, and Bill Mallard.

Briley is survived by his wife, Jennifer Johnson Smith; daughters, Allison Faulkner Siebel, Emily Faulkner Smith and Caroline Faulkner Smith; and sister, Peggy Mallard.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Isabel Siebel, William Siebel, Jackson Rogers, Christopher Rogers, and Emmie Rogers; sister-in-law, Kathy Jones (Carl); brother-in-law, Gary Johnson (Tracy); nieces and nephews, Marenda Everett (Ernie), Blake Taylor (Tonya), Chad Barwick (Nicole), Josh Barwick (Candice), Charlie Colie (Lara), Eddie Colie, Jake Johnson, Josh Johnson, Madison Howard (Justin), and Mary Grace Beyer; great nieces and nephews, Courtney Taylor, Braelyn Barwick, Tinsley Barwick, Grey Barwick ,Luke Colie, Kelly Colie, Mason Howard and Jackson Howard; his special friend, Vernon Cannon Jr., and caregiver, Mollie Dawson.  He will also be missed by his canine companion, Otis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Friends may visit with family at other times at his home.
