Two Arrested for Selling Stolen AC Parts to Lenoir County Scrapyard
On August 6, 2026, detectives with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office General Investigations Division were notified by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office of an incident involving an air conditioning unit that had been stolen in Greene County and subsequently scrapped at a metal recycling facility in Lenoir County.
Detectives began an investigation into the incident and learned that Michael Beamon, 41, of Lenoir County, and Andrea Swinson, 44, of Lenoir County, had sold the stolen AC parts to a metal recycling facility in Lenoir County. The two individuals reportedly received $199.23 from the business for the materials.
As a result of the investigation, Beamon and Swinson were each charged with one count of Obtaining Property by False Pretense.
On August 7, 2026, Beamon was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Greene County Detention Center, where he was served with the outstanding warrant. Beamon received a $25,000 secured bond.
On August 18, 2026, Swinson was arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office C-Shift, and custody was subsequently transferred to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. Swinson was transported to the Greene County Detention Center, where she was served with the outstanding warrant. She received a $10,000 secured bond.
