Ambleside Preparatory Academy reports break-in, vandalism

Ambleside Preparatory Academy in Kinston reported that its main school building was broken into and vandalized this weekend, according to a statement from Head of School Joanna Pike in a Facebook post.

Pike said the school has surveillance footage and that law enforcement is investigating. She said the incident does not appear to have specifically targeted Ambleside or Tabernacle, but appears to have been a random act.

The school said it is adding security measures to help protect students and staff. Pike also thanked staff members who helped clean and restore the building within hours of the damage being discovered.

Ambleside Preparatory Academy is a K-12 homeschool-hybrid private Christian school serving students in Eastern North Carolina, according to the school’s website. Ambleside Preparatory Academy
