Evelyn Dove Coleman: Offer your advice

If you put 6 people around a table and assign a discussion topic, how many differing responses and opinions might arise?  One of my in-laws sent me a link to a radio podcast he participates in sponsored by Ray-Mart in Kinston.  It proved to carry a lively and sometimes surprising exchange.

The topic for discussion revolved around a woman writing in that she was struggling with something she did and she needed advice.  She described herself as being married to a husband who treats her like a princess. The shortcoming is that he has no money to speak of so she found herself straying with an ex while on a girls trip.

Now she feels guilty and doesn't know whether she should go home and confess to her good-man husband.  The moderator asks the table participants what would they do.  One said don't hurt the good man by telling him, but don't do it again. Another said to tell him and maybe it would motivate him to do something more. One man emphatically said he would not want to know. The majority, however, said take that secret to the grave. Most said God sees everything and to pray for his forgiveness sincerely.  I just wonder what readers think about this. Send your advice  for the lady to evdove03@yahoo.com. I don't know who she is but I'll share your comments in a future column.
