Neuse News Sports Launches “The Trey Scott Sports Show” Beginning May 25
Neuse News Sports is officially expanding its footprint across Eastern North Carolina with the launch of “The Trey Scott Sports Show,” a new weekly live sports talk show premiering Monday, May 25 at 7 p.m.
Hosted by longtime Eastern North Carolina sports reporter Trey Scott, the show will air live every Monday night and feature a mix of high school sports coverage, regional athletics discussion, recruiting conversations, interviews, rankings, debates, and commentary from across the sports world.
Unlike traditional local sports programming focused strictly on one county or conference, “The Trey Scott Sports Show” is designed to shine a spotlight on athletes and programs throughout the region.
“This is not just about one county anymore,” Scott said. “This show is regional. It’s about giving Eastern North Carolina athletes, coaches, and communities the spotlight they deserve while also creating a platform where we can talk sports freely, honestly, and passionately.”
The show will feature:
Rotating co-hosts
Weekly guest appearances
Recruiting discussions
Top five rankings and debates
Coverage of high school athletics across Eastern North Carolina
College sports, professional sports, and trending topics
Interactive live discussion with viewers
Neuse News publisher BJ Murphy said the timing for the show aligns perfectly with the company’s continued growth and upcoming expansion into Wayne County athletics coverage.
“We’ve been building toward this for months,” Murphy said. “Trey has developed strong relationships with athletes, coaches, athletic directors, and communities across Eastern North Carolina. This show gives him the freedom and platform to bring those stories and conversations directly to the audience every week.”
The launch also comes as Neuse News Sports prepares to expand coverage into Wayne County, adding 10 more schools to its growing network of Eastern North Carolina athletics coverage.
“This is about more than just a show,” Scott added. “We want to become the voice of Eastern North Carolina sports.”
The first guest scheduled for Episode 1 is Blake Herring, former Louisburg College head coach and current leader of the new Carter Community College baseball program.
The show has already secured multiple sponsors ahead of launch, including:
Tiebreakers Sports Bar & Grill
Good Life Financial Partners
Success Mortgage Partners
El Nuevo San Juan
Carolina Medical Transport
