Diane Tyndall Hill

November 19, 1946 – May 14, 2026

Diane Tyndall Hill, of La Grange, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Magnolia Cottages on May 14, 2026. She was born on November 19, 1946, in Nash County. Diane dedicated more than 40 years of service to Lenoir Community College where she worked in the registrar’s office and was known for her kindness, dedication, and strong work ethic.

She found joy in life’s simple blessings: cheering on Tarheel Basketball, tending to her garden and carefully caring for her beloved azaleas, and serving faithfully at Wheat Swamp Christian Church as the Historian. She especially enjoyed participating in the church’s annual pepper relish canning, Harvest Festival, and Homecoming planning. Above all else, Diane’s greatest happiness came from time spent with her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many friends she dearly loved.

Diane shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, J.P. Hill. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Whether attending church, going to auctions, or simply enjoying each other’s company, they treasured the life they created together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lucy Tyndall, and her nephew, Brian Rouse.

Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, J.P. Hill; her daughter, Denise Hill Herring and husband Jeff; her grandchildren, Skylar and wife Stephanie, Noah, and Hannah Grayce; her great-grandchildren, Finley and Waylen; her sister, Sallie Rouse; and her nephew, Allen Rouse.

Funeral services will be held at Wheat Swamp Christian Church on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will follow the service.

The family would like to thank April and Michael Davidson, and all the caring staff at Magnolia Cottages. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Magnolia Cottages, 5643 US-70, Dover, NC 28526. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
