LCPS Announces 2025-2026 Summer Programs for Middle and High School Students

Lenoir County Public Schools is inviting students to take part in its 2025-2026 summer programs, offering a wide range of academic and enrichment opportunities for rising sixth through 12th grade students.

The programs will run July 13-23, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with breakfast served daily beginning at 7:45 a.m. Most camps will also provide lunch and transportation, helping ensure access for families across the district.

This year’s lineup includes programs designed to support academic success, ease key school transitions, and introduce students to future career pathways.

Middle school students can participate in the Summer Bridge Academy, which gives rising sixth graders a preview of English language arts and math while building essential skills such as time management, organization, and conflict resolution. Rising eighth graders enrolled in Math 1 may

attend the Math 1 Accelerator Camp, which focuses on strengthening prerequisite skills for success in high school-level coursework. LCPS is also offering STEM Adventures, where students engage in hands-on learning, engineering challenges, and collaborative projects that strengthen both academic and social-emotional skills.

At the high school level, the Summer Bridge Academy is designed to help rising ninth graders transition smoothly into high school by introducing them to academic expectations, career pathways, and essential organizational skills. High School Credit Recovery provides students with an opportunity to regain credits in a supportive, personalized environment.

Students interested in career exploration can take part in specialized camps such as District C and Healthcare Heroes: Camp Scrubs. District C offers a unique, team-based experience where students partner with local businesses to solve real-world problems and present their solutions. Healthcare Heroes immerses students in the medical field through hands-on activities, workshops, and opportunities to earn certifications such as CPR, first aid, and Stop the Bleed.

In addition, Camp Excel: Growing Minds, Building Dreams will serve migrant students in grades one through 12, offering opportunities to explore career pathways, build new skills, and engage in hands-on learning experiences.

Programs will be hosted at multiple school sites across the district, including Contentnea-Savannah, Frink, Rochelle, and Woodington middle schools, as well as Kinston, North Lenoir, and South Lenoir high schools.

District leaders say the expanded offerings reflect a continued commitment to student growth and opportunity beyond the traditional school year.
