Greene County commissioners to consider accepting $70,000 bequest for animal shelter

Greene County commissioners are scheduled Monday to consider accepting a $70,000 bequest left to the Greene County Animal Shelter.

County Manager Kyle DeHaven has recommended that the money be held, or assigned, to a capital reserve for the construction of an animal shelter.

The county is pursuing a future substantial renovation or building replacement tied to animal shelter needs. County officials said contributions toward that effort would be used as appropriately as possible.

If approved, the bequest would provide dedicated funding for future shelter-related capital needs.
