South Lenoir FFA to hold plant sale during Coach Troy Eason field dedication
South Lenoir FFA will hold a pre-plant sale Friday, April 17, during the Coach Troy Eason baseball field dedication ceremony at South Lenoir High School.
The sale will run from 5 to 8 p.m. April 17. The chapter also plans additional sale hours from 8 a.m. to noon on April 18 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-23. Cash or checks made payable to South Lenoir FFA will be accepted.
South Lenoir Athletics is hosting the baseball field renaming ceremony in honor of Coach Troy Eason. A school post states the dedication is scheduled for about 7 p.m. Friday, between the junior varsity and varsity games, and invites family, friends, former players and community members to attend.
“South Lenoir FFA will have ‘a variety of bedding plants, hanging baskets, mixed containers, geraniums, veggies, ferns and lots more,’ Alanna Thomas, South Lenoir FFA vice president, said in an email.”
Sale pricing includes hanging baskets for $12 or two for $20, 12-inch containers for $15, hanging ferns for $15, potted ferns for $20, vegetable and bedding plant four-packs for $3, and whole trays for $30.
The plant list includes flowers such as alyssum, bacopa, petunias, verbena and sunpatiens, along with vegetables including cucumbers, peppers, squash and tomatoes.
