Obituary: Dr. Bill D. Bradley

Dr Bill D Bradley, Sr, 92, of Kinston, NC has now seen the one who died for him as his faith was made sight on Resurrection Sunday on April 5, 2026 at 5:02 am. He is finally home in the presence of his risen Lord and Savior.

Born and raised in Mardela Springs, MD, he was the son of Fred and Victoria Bradley who preceded him in death at early ages. He was raised by his grandmother, Cora E. Majors (known as “Mom” to most) and Aunt Rebecca Parsons (known as “Aunt Beck”). At a young age, Bill accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He attended Mardela High School participating in all school activities and had a special love for all sports especially baseball. After high school, he attended the University of Maryland to play baseball while taking classes at Philadelphia Bible College. Signing to play with the St Louis Cardinals, Bill joined the USMC and served for 10 years.

In 1956, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Joyce, and together they began to fulfill his calling to preach the gospel in word and song. His first church was Piney Grove Baptist in Trenton, NC. He also served as pastor in Goldsboro and for the last 38 years has been at Grace Baptist in Kinston.

He is preceded in death by his devoted and much loved wife, Joyce. His brothers, Reverend Lou Bradley and John Brewer also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Mosely, his daughter Pam Baetz (Ed) and his son, Bill Bradley Jr. Grandchildren Amber Wiles (Alan Clay Sr), Amanda Wigley (Kyle) and Alyssa Noble (Jack). Great grandchildren Kyley Joy, Alan Clay Jr, Adalyn Jade and Ellie Joy. To his grandchildren he was lovingly known as “Daddy grand” (DG) and to his great grandchildren, Grand.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 309 NC-58, Kinston, NC 28504. Family visitation to follow. A private internment will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 481, LaGrange, NC 28551.
