Aaliyah Geralds: Empower Fest

Aaliyah Geralds: Empower Fest

The Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library will be hosting Empower Fest on Thursday, April 2 from 10 am to 2 pm. Empower Fest is an opportunity to empower the people of Lenoir County and beyond by providing access to community resources and programs, while encouraging civic engagement.

Patrons who have used the Let's Connect program at Neuse Regional Libraries, a program that provides one–on–one assistance for finding resources, often voice the difficulties of knowing where to go or who to call for assistance. With over 20 agencies and organizations present, the community can meet representatives and staff to learn about local programs, services, and support in Lenoir County and nearby areas. Empower Fest includes health, family, and other local agencies that address the most requested resources needed by our community.

Health agencies include Trillium Health Services, Lenoir County Health Department, Kinston Community Health, Recovery Together ENC, Easterseals PORT Health, and Caswell Developmental Center.

Family resources include Kinston Teens, Greene Lamp Head Start, Epic Pregnancy Center, WIC Department (LCHD), SAFE in Lenoir, and Lenoir Partnership for Children.

Finally, community organizations include the Kinston Police Department, Lenoir Community College, Hope Restoration, Laundry Blessings, Act Now Community Development Corp., Committed to Progressing Forward LLC, OASIS: A Holistic Network, Vocational Rehab, and Greater Kinston Credit Union

Empower Fest is meant not only to empower the residents of our community, but also to uplift the community itself! For more information please call Information Services at 252-527-7066 ext. 129. To participate in the Let’s Connect program, please call 252-527-7066 ext. 123.
