G.I. Joe’s Military Living History Museum

G.I. Joe’s Military Living History Museum

G.I. Joe’s is a local museum of military pictures and related items. From day one we thought of it as a bridge. We want it to be a connecting bridge between Lenoir County veterans and their local community. A place where space was offered for recognition and reflection and camaraderie. A place not just to honor those who have served but a place where others would learn and could be educated about veteran experiences. A place to remember the times and sacrifices and the events that took place in the name of National Security. Joe’s began and is a place to gather and remember the significance of the accomplishments of our local men and women who have donned the uniforms of our Country.

We hoped Joe’s would be an experience where all people could stand shoulder to shoulder with us who understand the full range of emotions service to Country brings to the human soul.

G.I. Joe’s is a tribute and remembrance.

G.I. Joe’s is an educational experience.

G.I. Joe’s is a space for healing and support for veterans.

And lastly Joe’s is a place for celebrating the spirit of service and diverse experiences of our local veterans.
