Hosted Agriculture Roundtable in Greenville
I hosted an agriculture roundtable in Greenville alongside Congressman David Rouzer with Eastern North Carolina farmers to hear their concerns and receive feedback on how Congress can help them succeed.
We had a very vibrant conversation about labor costs, commodity prices, crop insurance reforms, market access and trade, America’s relationship with China, and critical tax provisions that support the agricultural economy. As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, I had the privilege of helping to write the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which preserved and enhanced the Death Tax exemption, immediate expensing, and the 199(a) deduction.
Farmers are the backbone of Eastern North Carolina's success. America’s grocery stores and dinner tables would not be filled with nutritional food without the immense contributions of our producers here in Eastern North Carolina. It is my honor to represent so many incredible families and operations, and I will never stop fighting for you!
Secured $1,000,000 in Federal Funding for Farmville
It was a privilege to meet with Farmville Mayor Joyner and town leadership to celebrate $1,000,000 in federal funding I secured to help build a new fire department. Additionally, I had the opportunity to listen to the challenges the community faces and how I can help ensure it continues to have the resources it needs to thrive.
The current facility is nearly 100 years old and is not ADA accessible. Additionally, the current fire department is in a congested downtown area with no means of expansion, and it lacks adequate truck storage and operational space.
I remain committed to being an accessible representative and being your best advocate in Congress!
Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication in Farmville
It was my honor to attend a Habitat for Humanity home dedication in Farmville!
This was not just a celebration of a new home, but the beginning of a new chapter for a family and a stronger future for our community. A home like this doesn’t happen overnight, but because a family completed classes, put in the work, and prepared for the responsibilities of homeownership.
A stable home is a foundation for so many good things. It means children have a quiet place to study, families have security, and parents can plan for the future instead of worrying about the present. It is the basis for generational change that changes the trajectory of the future.
I want to thank every volunteer who gave their time, every sponsor who gave resources, and every supporter who believed in this mission!
Team Murphy Participates in Eastern North Carolina Operational Range Drone Event
Team Murphy had the pleasure of attending an event providing a comprehensive overview of the Eastern North Carolina Operational Range (ENCOR). At the event, live flight and communication demonstrations were conducted.
ENCOR is a cutting-edge operational range spanning air, land, sea, cyber, and space. Drone dominance is the future of warfare and emergency response, and America must lead in the next frontier of security to keep our country safe!
Team Murphy Recognizes Eagle Scout Jacob Lewis
Team Murphy had the wonderful opportunity to recognize Eagle Scout Jacob Lewis of Troop 252 in Carteret County and present him with a flag flown over the United States Capitol.
Jacob built a beautiful donation box for the Austin Veterinary Animal Hospital in Beaufort to help our furry friends in need!
I am proud of Jacob and his troop for their service to our community, and am encouraged by the leadership of these young men.
Team Murphy Tours New One Place Facility in Jacksonville
Team Murphy had the privilege of touring One Place's new facility in Jacksonville and hearing about its goals for 2027.
This vital organization is tragically necessary because they treat and care for kids who are subject to child abuse. We have to help our children as best as we can, and this is a tremendous facility that will continue to do just that.
One Place has been serving Onslow County for over 25 years, and I am proud to support its efforts.
