Lenoir County Woman Charged Following Impaired Driving Crash and Drug Investigation

On Monday, February 9, 2026, the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US 258 North and Paul’s Path Road involving property damage.

Upon arrival, Troopers identified Cynthia Carol Ingram as one of the drivers involved in the collision. During the course of the investigation, Troopers determined that Ingram was under the influence of an impairing substance other than alcohol. Pills were located inside Ingram’s vehicle at the scene.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reduction Team was contacted to assist with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Ingram was found to be in possession of 37 pressed pills at the time of the incident. She was arrested by the North Carolina Highway Patrol and charged with Driving While Impaired. She also received citations for moving violations related to the crash.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office subsequently charged Ingram with the following offenses:

  • Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance

  • Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance

  • Maintain Vehicle for Controlled Substance

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Ingram is currently being held at the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
