Two men are facing federal charges as a result of a Lenoir County Narcotic Investigation.
In August, 2025, Kenji Jerkins, 31, and Tyquil Yates, 31, were arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office as a result of a narcotic investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine throughout Lenoir County. During their arrest, a large quantity of methamphetamine was located.
Based on the details and nature of the investigation, and with the assistance of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina, narcotic related Federal Warrants were issued on JERKINS and YATES in February, 2026.
The United States Marshals Service were able to locate both JERKINS and YATES and take them into custody for the outstanding Federal Warrants for their arrest.
JERKINS and YATES are both facing the following charges:
Count 1 - 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(1)(a) and 846: Conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute fifty (50) grams or more of methamphetamine
Count 2 - 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1) and 18 U.S.C. § 2: Possess with intent to distribute fifty (50) grams or more of methamphetamine; and aiding and abetting
